John Hallam, (saxophone, clarinet, flute) makes his first appearance at Ribfest, leading a Jazz Quartet comprising of accomplished players, and friends, from the North West Jazz Scene.

Bringing glamour and sophistication to the proceedings will be vocalist Lyn Fairbanks. Lyn is an established singer on the North West Jazz Scene. At ease with up tempo Jazz Standards or smooth ballads from the pen of Johnny Mandel. Lyn’s first album, “Blue Prelude” has been featured on several jazz record request programmes.
The rhythm section for the quartet, comprises, Dave Turner bass. A welcome return for Dave after he appeared in the first Ribfest jazz gig to wide acclaim.
On Drums Dave Minshull. Big band or small group, Dave is in big demand, equally at home with either. Dave has also played alongside the “who’s who of jazz”. He enjoyed a very successful spell as drummer with the NDO.
Local interest comes via keyboard player Ed Lomax. A busy local jazz musician who can also be heard each Sunday playing the organ at St Peter and Paul’s in Ribchester. (No jazz!)
